The rapidly growing niche fragrance brand Scents of Wood isbecoming known for their deep engagement with the perfume community. When founder Fabrice Crois asked fragrance fans what perfumer Natasha Cot (maker of the sexy superstar, Praline in Maple) should create next, they responded with a resounding desire for a “fluffy” woody dessert scent…

The resulting fragrance, Vanilla in Armagnac, does not disappoint, where floaty vanilla is blended with dry, lightly resinous woods and a subtle spike of bitter orange. The composition is enhanced by perfumer’s alcohol aged in an oak barrel that previously hosted Armagnac, infusing a dash of the historic French brandy’s own roasty-toasty notes of cocoa, dried fruits and of course, more wood.
